Staff Member Receives Statewide Mentoring Award

Alyvia Xiong, Community Youth Council (CYC) Coordinator at RiseUp Partnership, was recently selected as the recipient of the Monarch Award for Young Leaders as part of this year’s MENTOR Minnesota Awards.

This award is given to a young person (age 26 or younger) who is leading with purpose and passion to create positive change in their community. Alyvia has worked with RiseUp Partnership since her senior year of high school – first as a peer mentor, and most recently as the leader of the CYC. She has helped place youth on the boards of local nonprofits, created volunteer opportunities for CYC members, and coordinated youth attendance at advocacy days at the Minnesota State Capitol to offer firsthand experience in civic engagement. Alyvia is an impactful and committed leader, and her work is creating new pathways and opportunities for the youth we serve.
